For better or worse (and despite efforts to the contrary by the developers) EQ2 is a pretty linear game. Stuff that's made for level 50 was fun when the majority of the population was level 50. It was new and shiny and most people were doing. When 50-60 content came out, what was fun is the 50-60 stuff, the 50 stuff was still ok, but already starting to fade. Then 60 to 70 came out, then 70 to 80, then 80-90. The game is great fun at 80-90, moreso at 90. This is where the cool new content is, this is where the people are.
So you did the right thing. If you can't bear to grind it out, I wouldn't stick around to play outdated content with little to no people. (And i mean "grind" in very loose terms as "grind" in EQ2 means you have to spend like an hour per level doing quests and exploring new zones, it's not nearly as bad or as boring as many other games. But it's still "Grind" because in this day and age you're only doing it to get to the "main" part of the game.)

As a caster I did not see anything new in the combat, just hit button A, then button B, then button C. They even light up the next button for you to hit . The fatalities do have some great animations, but good graphics alone won't hold people.
I saw the movie Avatar twice when it was in theatres I was so impressed with the special effects, but doubt if I will ever watch it again, the plot was just so so. On the other hand I have seen some of the old classic black and white movies several times because of the acting and plots.
AoC is liek Avatar to me, great visuals but little else to bring me back. Still next free trial I will be downloading again it hoping it will hook me in.

i tried to login last night after a break since a little bit after eye of the north
lol!login i got all the guild wars release i even baught the game of the year for the original since i like the ingame item
but they have a new feature you need one name of your in game char
since i never needed that before i m screwed cant access that trash can

I beta tested the game and even played it for two months after it went live. To put simply Disney dropped the ball. I liked all 3 of the movies, so I was hoping for something really good. Alas Disney took a PG-13 movie series and turned it into a cartoony game that's rated E 10 and up. They already had Toontown Online for kid. They could have made a good T rated game., but this is Disney we are talking about. I hope and pray they never try to make a Narnia MMO, becuase they'd mess it up too.

I've got a character from 2003 but I don't know how to play lol, keep coming back each year trying to get into it but end up just training and logging off for a month lol. When I try to join alliances people seem to think I'm a spy or I bought my character off ebay or something. However the fact is I just bought the game in 2003 and have barely played since. I don't wanna start again cause I've trained 40 million sp over the years and can't be bothered to go through it again. I tried PVP last year but I think I lost 5 ships and only killed 6, I can't afford to pay for a clone again lol.
Anyways I'm still trying to get into the game but can't find any good alliances that teach noobs, can anyone one give any popular ones? I've tried joining loads over the years but they all end up having like 5 people, which are never online.

Single button macros that make decisions for you ruin PvP whether you are using them or not. I thought that it was worth mentioning to anyone who is considering trying RoM that if they plan to PvP in RoM they should expect to end up watching bots match gear, item shop items and macro code rather than actually competing against other players. If you're into that then good for you. I'm not.

The true challenge to PvE tends to be finding other players to help you check your gear versus a given encounter and then luck in winning the progression roll.
Macro'd PvP I-WIN buttons combined with item shop I-BUY-WINS items makes RoM's PvP fail but it is the item shop prices (not the macros) that make the end-game PvE fail. The macro system may make the rest of RoM's PvE fail but I'm not a big fan of PvE grinding and so really don't care if people want to push a single button until they reach max level (to push a single button until they obtain end-game gear, to push a single button until...).

Decided to try it again. I've never seen such a tedius snoozefest in any MMO ever. You can't just play. Even after you've gotten acquainted and rerolled your character to satisfaction, it's still go get a quest then go join an instance.
And heck, I was tolerating if not enjoying it for a little bit. Then came korvath island or whatever it's called. Basically a big bunch of nothing with a bunch of tedium where it becomes annoying just finding your quest locations.
Two things could have fixed this. 1. XP per mob kill. Even PnP has that, and if anyone's campaign ever included a big area where you had to wander around killing things for long stretches of time, they'd be awarded XP for it and not just for arbitrary goals. 2. Quest locators on the map. I'm sorry if this is too 'easymode' for some people, but the game design is horrible enough to make this a necessity. Don't shoot the messenger.
Based on the fact that general chat can be seen anywhere, I found it difficult to believe that there's a whole lot of people interested in the game, as Turbine would have us believe. Also look at the post counts of vnboards and this forum. Not stunning. Even the official forums are only semi-active. Definitely not indicative of a million new players.

Saying that Aion is a better graphical game is not an opinion, it's plain as day fact. You are mistaking art style and pure graphics. WoW looks like something from the 90's. You say you don't prefer manga type models, well that's just the STYLE but the graphics in the game are higher and extremely more detailed than WoW, that's just the fact of the matter, look at two screenshots of the games side by side.
Now what is opinion is you claiming that Aion has a crappy community; my experience has been the complete opposite - loyal, helpful people in Aion, craptards in WoW. It's just the luck of the draw; the server you play on, guild etc. Yes I have to agree that WoW is DULL as hell now and probably will always be to us who've played since launch, I doubt Cata will even keep me in the long run, I'll probably at least check it out.
Finally, you're mistaking what I said - I never said Aion will outsell WoW Cata, I simply said I believe that Aion has a brighter future ahead of it since it's still less than a year old in NA where as WoW is going to be 6. I understand Cata is around the corner but we all know it's the same old drivel in a new box where as Aion Vision (hopefully) seems to be adding completely new things to the game.

Just incase this isnt a troll as i'am sure many ppl could possibly be having similar issues i will put my opinion in.
Firstly u need to figure out how much she means to you and weather ur attempts are because you truly love and care bout her or weather its a first love and u dont want to let go sort of thing.
If u decide to stay then i hate to say it but the problem proberly lies with u especially if that sex while raiding comment had any truth to it, I would recomend u read up on a few sex guides cause after 5 years just putting it in and going for it aint gonna cut it especially as u get a bit older whoever said the female o is a myth is either a troll or a kid, u will know when u hit it she will secrete a heap of stuff that will make a wet patch on the bed or wherever u are followed by the inside muscles contracting then it will all go really sensative. If u can do that there is no way possible she could concentrate on a game and have that happen at the same time.
Another thing if she has stopped paying so much attention to u and more on the game she is proberly filling the emotional void with u for the social aspect of wow and it may take a bit of work to get that back but dont give up put the effort in help with the cooking/cleaning instead of expecting her to do it all. Try and get her away from the comp for a day and go out somewhere special where she has no choice but to dress up and look nice u may have to keep an eye on her raid schedule to start with work around it to prove you are truely trying to fix things.
Dont just sit her down and say ur gonna leave her if she doesnt stop playing cause that will just result in a fight ending in fine do it then, more talk about your relationship and your thoughts on where its going on the current path and if all else fails she will no doubt get burnt out with wow's repetative raiding anyway.

Like most of my friends that are trying to keep playing, yes I did for one attempt in a few levels with party people low lvl running too fast to kill everything and failing to investigate whats in each part. Clearly non-skillers that won't play long take control and make a mess in there. The only ones to benefit best are the lesser number of teams that play runescape as compared to years ago. Over 2.5 hrs on I got 4 levels with about 614 experience when to max this you need 104m experince. Jagex claim when logging in that pre-Dung era was 65k hours of playing so with Dung thrown in you add another 25-30k hours to play a totally different game simply to try to get all skills up equally.
Bugger that, get lost jagex. I paid to play so will use that up to see what changes. No change with removing Dung i'm more likely to simply quit then. At least there's always F2P simply to keep in touch with friends if any of them stay on.
